Fond Of: Home, Home, Home
Why I'm here and what's to come
Home has always meant pretty much everything to me. From the way it looks to the way it feels to the way it makes me feel, there is truly nowhere on the planet more important to me than home. I likely have my mother to thank for that, as she’s always put great attention and care into the places I was lucky to call home growing up.
In my adult life, my love and appreciation for home has blossomed into more of…a full blown obsession. Working on the digital side of the interior design industry for many years, admiring all the things from the sidelines, has given me an insatiable love for the true art of creating a home. I’ve always heard your passion is that one thing you can never get tired of reading about, learning about, thinking about or doing yourself, and interior design is undoubtedly that for me.
While I’m not an interior designer and don’t quite feel called to be one (but I’ll never say never), I like to consider myself an interior curator. Made up title? Possibly, but it really fits me just right. The pieces that fill a space have always lit me up way more than endless hard finish samples and paints colors and the nuts and bolts of a space. It’s the searching and sourcing and piecing and pairing multiple pieces of furniture, lighting, decor, you name it, from all kinds of different places, thoughtfully combining them all in one space, and the final product feeling like pure kismet. That’s where the real magic is for me, it’s the high I’ll never get tired of chasing.
But alas, I only have so many rooms in my house and so much budget to go around! So I thought, what if I just shared my love for searching and sourcing and piecing and pairing with you? Which of course lead me here, to create Fond Of, an interior curator’s (hey that’s me) collection of favorite things. From hand-chosen homewares I’ve combed the internet to find, to inspiring spaces that keep me staring, and lots of goodness in between, I’m so excited to finally and freely sharing all the interior-related (and possibly some not as related!) things I’m loving with you.
More to come!
XO,
Bridget
